President Rules Out Immediate Return to International Market
President of the Republic of Ghana has declared that the country will not seek borrowing from the International Money Market in the immediate term, despite ongoing economic challenges.
Addressing the media, the President stressed that Ghana’s prudent economic management has created space to rely on homegrown solutions rather than external borrowing. He emphasised the need to cut reckless spending and strengthen domestic fiscal discipline to ensure stability.
The President explained that focusing on internal reforms and resource mobilisation would be more sustainable in the medium term than taking on additional foreign debt. His remarks have been widely welcomed by Ghanaians, who expressed optimism that government will remain committed to this fiscal responsibility agenda.
