EPA Remits GH¢20 Million to Consolidated Fund Amid Institutional Reforms

April 28,2026

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has remitted GH¢20 million to the Consolidated Fund, signaling improved financial performance and accountability within the institution.

The announcement was made by the Chief Executive Officer of the EPA, Nana Ama Browne Klutse, as part of updates on the agency’s ongoing reforms and operational improvements.

The remittance reflects a significant boost in internally generated funds, driven largely by enhanced efficiency, strengthened compliance systems, and the digitisation of core operations. Officials indicate that the transition to digital processes has reduced leakages, improved transparency, and increased revenue mobilisation.

The contribution to the Consolidated Fund where government revenues are pooled to support national development underscores the EPA’s growing role not only as an environmental regulator but also as a revenue-generating public institution.

Analysts note that such financial performance highlights the impact of recent institutional reforms, positioning the EPA as a more accountable and results-driven agency within Ghana’s public sector.

The development is expected to further strengthen confidence in the Authority’s management systems and its commitment to supporting national fiscal objectives while advancing environmental governance.
