Ghana Armed Forces Conducts Search and Rescue Operation Off Coast of Senya Beraku

The Ghana Armed Forces has launched a search and rescue operation at sea following an attack on fishing vessels near Senya Beraku in the Central Region.
According to a press release issued on February 26, 2026, by the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra, the Ghana Navy, with support from the Ghana Air Force, began operations at dawn approximately 35 nautical miles off the coast of Senya Beraku.
The statement indicated that the operation is ongoing and follows reports of an attack on some fishing vessels operating in the area. Authorities have not yet disclosed details regarding casualties, arrests, or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The military has appealed to the public to remain calm while efforts continue to secure the area and account for affected persons. Further updates are expected as the operation progresses.
