Browne Foundation Donates Sanitary Products to Female Students in Central Region Schools

June 17,2026

The Browne Foundation has donated sanitary products to female students in selected basic schools across the Central Region as part of efforts to promote girls' education and menstrual hygiene management.

The beneficiary schools include Pra Ewusi Islamic Basic School, Nyanfeku Ekroful Roman Catholic Basic School, Nyanfeku Ekroful Methodist Basic School, Gyandokrom Basic School, and several other schools within the region.

The donation forms part of the Foundation's ongoing commitment to ensuring that no girl is denied access to education due to a lack of basic sanitary materials. By providing sanitary products to schoolgirls, the initiative seeks to reduce absenteeism during menstruation and empower girls to remain confident and focused on their academic pursuits.

According to the Foundation, the intervention is carried out periodically, particularly in rural communities where many families face challenges accessing and affording menstrual hygiene products for their daughters.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, the Foundation emphasized that supporting girls' education goes beyond providing classroom infrastructure and learning materials. Ensuring access to essential sanitary products is critical to helping girls stay in school and achieve their full potential.

The Foundation noted that menstrual health remains a significant barrier to education for many girls in underserved communities, making such interventions necessary to bridge the gap and promote educational equity.

The Browne Foundation was established by Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, the Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) Ghana. Through its various social interventions, the Foundation continues to support vulnerable groups, particularly women and children, while promoting education, health, and community development.

Beneficiaries, teachers, and community members expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the timely support, describing the donation as a meaningful contribution to the welfare and educational advancement of female students in the region.

The initiative underscores the Foundation's broader vision of empowering young girls and creating an environment where every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive regardless of social or economic circumstances.
