Former Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has officially announced his departure from Ghana's national football team in an emotional farewell message shared on his official Facebook page.
Addressing Ghanaians, Queiroz reflected on his time in charge of the Black Stars, describing football as a journey where "you either win or you learn." He said he leaves with pride in what the team accomplished, while emphasizing that achieving higher standards should only inspire even greater ambitions.
The veteran coach stressed that the future success of the Black Stars will depend not only on performances on the field but also on creating the right structures to prepare, protect, and develop Ghana's football talent.
"The future of the Black Stars will not be built only on the pitch. Black Stars success must start off the field, by creating the best possible environment to prepare, protect and develop Ghana's extraordinary football talent," he wrote.
Queiroz expressed appreciation to the President and Executive Board of the Ghana Football Association for giving him the opportunity to lead the national team, describing it as an honour and privilege to serve Ghana.
He also thanked his players and technical staff for their courage, commitment and unwavering dedication throughout his tenure.
In a heartfelt message to supporters, Queiroz acknowledged that although the team may not have achieved complete sporting satisfaction, he believes they succeeded in restoring respect and credibility to the Black Stars on football's biggest stage.
He concluded his message by thanking Ghanaians for their support and expressing optimism for the team's future.
