KNUST SHS Assistant Headmaster Sacked Over Sex With Student

The Ghana Education Service has removed the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, from office following a viral video allegedly showing him in a compromised position with a female student.
In a statement issued on September 29,2025 by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations for GES, the service said its attention was drawn to the video circulating on social media and has taken immediate action to safeguard students and maintain the integrity of the teaching profession.
Mr. Aidoo has been removed from office and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out. The GES emphasized that it views the matter with utmost seriousness given its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of students under its care.
Management assured the general public, stakeholders, parents, and students that due process will be followed, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the code of conduct of the Ghana Education Service.
The GES reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all schools, strongly condemning any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of students.
The statement was released from the Public Relations Unit at GES Headquarters in Accra under reference number GES/HQ/PR/25/106. The service emphasized that investigations are ongoing and final disciplinary measures will be determined following the completion of the investigation process.
This incident adds to growing concerns about student safety and professional conduct in Ghana's educational institutions, highlighting the importance of strict adherence to safeguarding protocols in schools.
