EPA Bans Use of Chanfan Machines in Ghana

The Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse, has paid a courtesy visit to journalists who were involved in a compliance-related accident in the Ashanti Region on November 6, 2025.
Professor Browne Klutse was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Director of the Authority, Dr. Jackson A. Nyantakyi, and the Eastern Regional Director, Mr. Sydney Danso. The visit was to assess the health conditions of the affected journalists and to express the Authority’s concern and solidarity.
During the visit, the EPA CEO interacted with the journalists and wished them a speedy recovery. She acknowledged the vital role the media plays in supporting environmental compliance, transparency, and public education, especially during regulatory operations.
The journalists visited were among those involved in the accident that occurred while covering a compliance activity in the Ashanti Region. Professor Browne Klutse emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and welfare of journalists and regulatory officers during such operations.
The Environmental Protection Authority reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the media and improving safety measures during compliance activities, while assuring the affected journalists of its continued support.
