As the countdown to the US presidential election on November 5 continues, the issue of whether there will be a new live-streamed debatebetween Harris and Trump has come to the fore again.

Democratic candidate Harris' campaign office said on CNN on Oct. 23 that Harris is ready to face Trump. Responding to Harris' call from North Carolina, where he was holding an election rally, Trump rejected the call, saying, "The problem with another debate show is that it's too late for that, (early) voting has already begun.".

Trump, who had his first live broadcast debate with US President Joe Biden, who was the Democratic presidential candidate before Harris, on June 27, faced Harris on September 10.

This year's presidential election, in which Democrats Kamala Harris and Republicans Donald Trump competed, took on a new dimension after US President Joe Biden withdrew from the race in July..

In the US, Harris is narrowly ahead of Trump with 49.3 percent of the vote; Trump, on the other hand, appears to have 47.4 percent of the vote.
