The Ken Ohene Agyapong Campaign has issued a strongly-worded statement warning that it will not tolerate personal attacks from surrogates of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, particularly targeting comments made by Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as "Koka."
In a press release dated Thursday, October 2, 2025, the campaign accused the well-known loyalist of Dr. Bawumia of launching "vicious and unprovoked attacks" on Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong during a recent broadcast on Wontumi Television.
The statement, signed by Communications Director Kwaku Amoh-Darteh, Esq., described it as "both astonishing and hypocritical" for Dr. Bawumia's followers to portray him as a "peaceful person" while his camp allegedly tolerates and benefits from intimidation, bullying, and abusive rhetoric.
"Silence in the face of such conduct is itself an endorsement," the statement read. "By failing to repudiate these attacks, Dr. Bawumia and his inner circle have, through inaction, condoned them."
The Ken Agyapong campaign made clear that it knows how to respond to what it termed "reckless defamation" but has chosen restraint thus far. However, the statement warned of potential consequences if the attacks continue.
"We respectfully, but firmly advise Dr. Bawumia's camp to call their surrogates to order," the campaign stated. "If they choose instead to drag this campaign into the gutter of personal vilification, they will awaken consequences they will come to regret."
Despite the warning, the campaign emphasized its commitment to focusing on ideas, vision, and principle rather than personal vilification. The statement concluded with a call for peace, unity, and discipline within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), while cautioning that "peace must not be mistaken for weakness and unity must not be confused with cowardice."
The Ken Ohene Agyapong Campaign reaffirmed its dedication to "defending truth, protecting integrity and speaking for the grassroots" of the party.
