EPA Introduces Online Environmental Permit System for Manufacturers
April 11, 2026
The Environmental Protection Authority has launched a digital platform to enable manufacturing facilities to apply for environmental permits online, marking a significant step toward improving regulatory efficiency in Ghana.
The new system, dubbed “EPA Goes Digital,” is designed to eliminate paperwork bottlenecks and streamline the permit acquisition process for businesses. Manufacturers can now submit applications electronically, reducing delays and ensuring faster approvals.
According to the EPA, the initiative will help companies maintain uninterrupted production while complying with environmental regulations. The move is also expected to enhance transparency, improve service delivery, and support sustainable industrial practices.
The digital platform aligns with Ghana’s broader agenda to promote environmental protection and sustainable development. By simplifying access to permits, the EPA aims to encourage compliance and reduce the environmental impact of industrial activities.
The rollout of the online system is part of ongoing efforts to modernize public services and strengthen environmental governance in the country.
