Interior Ministry Declares Monday, September 22, a Public Holiday

The Ministry of the Interior has declared Monday, September 22, 2025, a statutory public holiday to mark this year’s Founder’s Day celebration.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry explained that the official holiday, which falls on Sunday, September 21, coincides with a weekend.

To ensure nationwide observance, President John Mahama, by Executive Instrument, has directed that the holiday be observed on the following Monday in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), as amended.

The Ministry urged the public to take note and observe the day accordingly.
