AAK Chairmanship Race Heats Up as New Contender Emerges

February 10, 2026

The race for the Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK) Constituency chairmanship is gathering momentum, following indications that a new contender is preparing to enter the contest.

Credible information available to Vistanews suggests that Mr. Amos Fiifi Arhin, a former parliamentary aspirant and board member of the Ghana Export Promotion Centre, is positioning himself to contest the chairmanship slot. Sources say Mr. Arhin is expected in the constituency in the coming weeks to begin consultations with party stakeholders.

Although no formal declaration has been made, insiders confirm that Mr. Arhin has already initiated private engagements and phone conversations with influential party members.

The development comes amid uncertainty surrounding the possible return of former constituency chairman, Kojo Arkoh, whose comeback efforts appear to be facing challenges.

Meanwhile, the incumbent chairman, Mr. Vincent Ekow Koomson, is widely expected to seek re-election, setting the stage for a competitive internal contest.

Stay tuned in the coming days as this is only a preview of the major developments we will be bringing you.
