Support Fund for Children of Helicopter Crash Victims Raises Over GHS 7.2m and $20,000

The Children’s Support Fund, set up to care for the dependents of victims of the August 6 helicopter crash, has received GHS 7,292,135 and US$20,000 in donations as of September 24, 2025.
The latest contributions came from both corporate bodies and private individuals, including Risk Management Ltd., Federated Commodities, Willbeck Consult, Sida Global Logistics & Engineering Ltd., the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Personal donors such as Accra Mayor Michael Kpakpo Allotey and Dr. Li & Chen Guo Wei also made notable contributions.
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, expressed gratitude on behalf of the government, assuring that every donation will directly support the education, healthcare, and general welfare of the affected children.
The Fund further reminded the public that donations remain open through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited (Stanbic Heights Branch) with dedicated cedi and dollar accounts, as well as via cheque, bank draft, or mobile money.
The August 6 crash, which claimed multiple lives, has spurred nationwide solidarity, with both institutions and individuals rallying to ensure the future security of the victims’ children.
